Boxing Legend Ricky Hatton Dies at 46

-

Ricky Hatton, the renowned boxer from Manchester, was captured in a joyful moment with his daughters and granddaughter shortly before his untimely passing. The 46-year-old sports icon was found deceased at his home in Gee Cross, Hyde on the morning of September 14, according to the Greater Manchester Police. Authorities have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Known as Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, he has left a void in the boxing world and behind him, he leaves his three children: Campbell, aged 24, Millie, aged 13, Fearne, aged 12, and his granddaughter Lyla, aged seven.

Ricky became a father at the age of 22 when his son Campbell was born in 2001 to his former partner, Claire. Subsequently, he welcomed daughters Millie and Fearne during his relationship with former fiancée Jennifer Dooley.

His granddaughter Lyla, who is Campbell’s daughter, was born in 2018. Just two weeks ago, Ricky shared a heartfelt photo on social media celebrating Lyla’s 7th birthday, where he expressed his love and affection for her.

In another post last month, Ricky shared a picture with his daughters Millie and Fearne during a family outing in Tenerife, captioning the moment with warm words.

Apart from his children and granddaughter, Ricky also leaves behind his beloved parents. Despite a decade-long estrangement with them due to a financial dispute that led to a heated confrontation with his father in a parking lot, Ricky eventually reconciled with them in 2019.

Reflecting on the importance of family, Ricky acknowledged the need to mend relationships before it’s too late. Realizing the fragility of life after witnessing his friends lose their parents, he made a conscious effort to let go of past grievances and embrace reconciliation.
