“Children Rescued from Storage Unit in Milwaukee”

-

Six young children, including a two-month-old baby, have been rescued from a storage unit where they were locked up. Police in Milwaukee have arrested a 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man on charges of child abuse and neglect after finding the children at a StorSafe unit in the northern part of the city.

Inside the unit, authorities discovered six children aged two, three, five, seven, and nine, along with the infant. Fortunately, the children did not suffer any physical harm during their confinement. Initially, officials believed there were only two children inside based on dispatch audio obtained by ABC News.

Due to the container being locked, the police called in fire crews to assist in gaining access. Thankfully, no injuries occurred during the operation. Witnesses in the area provided conflicting accounts, with one resident mentioning seeing a family with children coming and going, while another denied seeing any children around the storage facility.

Local residents expressed shock and concern over the incident, with one individual stating that the situation seemed like a plea for help. Community members were troubled by the lack of support for the children and emphasized the need to provide proper care and not treat them inhumanely.

Following the incident, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is reportedly reviewing the charges.
