A young woman was the victim of a daylight assault on a busy street, which authorities are investigating as a racially motivated crime. The incident occurred in the Tame Road area of Oldbury, where the British-born woman in her twenties reported being raped by two men.
The West Midlands Police received the report at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and are appealing to witnesses for any information. According to the police, the assailants made a racist comment during the attack. Chief Superintendent Kim Madill stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators through various investigative methods.
The Sikh Federation (UK) revealed that the attackers verbally assaulted the woman with discriminatory remarks during the heinous act. Dabinderjit Singh, representing the Sikh Federation (UK), highlighted the brutal nature of the assault that took place in broad daylight on a busy road. He emphasized the need for political leaders to denounce such violent racist incidents unequivocally.
Gurinder Singh Josan, the Labour MP for Smethwick, expressed shock at the incident and conveyed solidarity with the victim. He mentioned being in contact with Chief Superintendent Kim Madill to ensure that the police are diligently working to bring the culprits to justice. The authorities are treating the case as a hate crime and are providing support to the traumatized victim.
