Disruptive Passengers Ground easyJet Liverpool Flight

-

An easyJet flight bound for Liverpool was called off due to disruptive passengers, leaving many travelers stranded in Spain.

Passengers waiting to board the flight in Malaga reported hearing disturbances, with eyewitnesses stating that three apparently intoxicated individuals were removed from the plane by easyJet personnel and local police. Subsequently, all passengers were returned to the check-in desk as the crew, reportedly distressed by the episode, deemed themselves unfit to operate the flight back to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

Following the cancellation, dissatisfaction arose among affected passengers regarding the handling of the situation by easyJet’s customer service. Some travelers claimed they were advised to use an app to secure alternative flights, despite the unavailability of immediate accommodations at Malaga Airport.

An easyJet spokesperson explained that crew members are obligated to declare if they are not in a suitable state to fly. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured affected customers of refunds for self-booked lodgings.

Among the impacted passengers was Gaynor Loguellou, who recounted the distressing experience near the boarding gate. Another traveler, James Holt from Manchester, also shared his observations of the disruptive scene at the airport.

Gaynor and other passengers faced challenges in rebooking flights through the easyJet app, leading to further frustration and logistical complications. The lack of assistance and communication from the airline exacerbated the ordeal for passengers, including missing important commitments upon their return to Liverpool.

Despite the disruptions, easyJet emphasized the priority of customer and crew safety and pledged to assist affected passengers with rebooking options, refunds, and support for accommodation and meals as necessary.
