“Google Chrome Issues Urgent Update to Combat Zero-Day Threat”

Google has released an urgent update for its Chrome browser to address a critical bug. This bug has been labeled as a “zero-day” threat, indicating that hackers are actively exploiting it. The tech giant confirmed the existence of an exploit known as CVE-2025-5419 and advised users to update their browsers immediately to the latest version, which is 137.0.7151.68/.69 for Mac and Windows PCs.

The issue, identified as an “out of bounds read and write in V8,” was reported by Google Threat Analysis Group members Clement Lecigne and Benoît Sevens. To ensure safety, users are encouraged to check their browser settings and restart Chrome to apply the necessary security patches. Google emphasized the importance of keeping browsers up to date to protect against potential security risks.
