“Kickboxing World Champion in Bar Brawl, Sentenced to Community Work”

-

A kickboxing world champion and Scotland rugby player engaged in an altercation with two bouncers outside a city bar. Christianne Fahey, a professional boxer and former Six Nations player, assaulted the bouncers by throwing a punch at one and attempting to headbutt the other, according to court records. Sheriff William Wood, addressing Fahey in Perth Sheriff Court, acknowledged her sporting achievements but also highlighted her history of violent offenses. The sheriff urged Fahey to take control of her actions and emphasized the need to avoid further violent incidents.

Fahey, hailing from Aberdeen, received a six-month social work supervision order and was mandated to perform 100 hours of unpaid community work after admitting to two counts of assault on February 2 in Perth. The prosecutor detailed the events leading to Fahey’s arrest, where she physically confronted the security staff at the Bank Bar. Despite her defense citing factors like intoxication and mental health issues, Fahey’s past violent behavior, including a 22-month jail sentence in 2019 for assaulting two individuals in Dundee, was referenced during the court proceedings.
