Man Dies in Tragic Car Accident at Manchester Scrapyard

-

A tragic incident occurred at a bustling scrapyard in Manchester, resulting in the death of a man when a car reportedly fell on him. The victim, a man in his 40s whose identity has not been disclosed, was pronounced dead after emergency responders were summoned to J Davidson on Atlantic Street, Trafford, in the Broadheath area of Altrincham on Wednesday afternoon. The area was cordoned off for investigation by the authorities, specifically the Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

The GMP has initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the man’s untimely demise. According to reports from Manchester Evening News, the man experienced a cardiac arrest when an object, suspected to be a car, fell on him. It was noted that the deceased was not an employee of J Davidson but rather worked for a company based in Lithuania.

An air ambulance was seen landing at the yard, and J Davidson expressed their condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) confirmed their collaboration with the GMP on the matter.

In an official statement, the GMP confirmed the man’s passing, stating, “Emergency services responded to an incident at a business on Atlantic Street, Broadheath, at approximately 3.15pm yesterday. Unfortunately, a man in his 40s was declared deceased. Investigations are currently ongoing.” Following the incident response, Craven Road, which had been closed off, has since been reopened.

A spokesperson for J Davidson conveyed deep sorrow over the fatal incident and extended sympathies to the affected family and individuals. They emphasized their cooperation with the police and HSE but refrained from commenting on the incident’s cause until official inquiries are completed.
