Police are on the lookout for a man suspected of theft following a significant house explosion in Bradford. Jacob Ryan, 28, is being sought by authorities after the explosion occurred on Southfield Lane over the weekend. Responding to reports of the blast at approximately 10:10 pm, emergency services arrived at the unoccupied property.
West Yorkshire Police verified that a man, woman, and a boy from a nearby residence were hospitalized with minor injuries. A 27-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and subsequently arrested on suspicion of stealing metal from the location of the explosion.
Superintendent Lucy Leadbeater of Bradford District Police stated, “Several investigations are ongoing regarding this grave incident. While the cause of the explosion at the vacant property is still being looked into, reports suggest a metal theft occurred just before the incident.”
“One individual, arrested in connection with the theft, sustained serious injuries. We are now seeking the whereabouts of a second individual, identified as Jacob Ryan, linked to the theft offense,” Leadbeater added. She urged anyone with information on Jacob’s location to come forward, emphasizing the importance of ensuring he receives necessary medical attention if injured.
Individuals able to aid the investigations are urged to contact Bradford District CID at 101, citing police log 1857 dated September 13. Information can also be shared on www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat or anonymously through the independent Crimestoppers charity at 0800 555 111.
