WhatsApp has made an announcement regarding the end of support for certain older iPhones, which has already taken effect. This change means that users with older iPhone models will no longer be able to use WhatsApp for messaging, calling, and texting unless they upgrade to a newer device.
According to WhatsApp, starting from May 5, 2025, only iOS versions 15.1 and above will be supported. This update impacts devices such as the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6s.
If you are still using one of the affected iPhone models, WhatsApp has issued a warning that should not be overlooked. While it may be tempting to download unofficial versions of WhatsApp from the internet after the support ends, doing so could lead to severe consequences.
WhatsApp explained that unofficial apps are unauthorized versions developed by third parties, violating their Terms of Service and potentially posing security risks. Using these unauthorized apps could result in temporary bans and ultimately a permanent block from using WhatsApp.
It is crucial to avoid sideloading unofficial apps onto iPhones and stick to official apps from trusted sources like the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to ensure a safe and uninterrupted user experience.
