In response to Team Europe’s victory at the Ryder Cup on American soil, former President Donald Trump acknowledged the outcome. The Europeans secured their first win in the U.S. since 2012, defeating Team USA by a score of 15-13 at Bethpage Black in New York.
Attending the tournament as a keen golf enthusiast, Trump arrived on Friday via Air Force One to support the American team. Despite a strong start by Europe, the U.S. team, led by Keegan Bradley, staged a spirited comeback, creating a tense final session before Europe clinched the victory.
Following the win, Team Europe players filmed a video message for Trump, playfully asking, “Are you watching, Donald Trump?” Trump, in turn, replied on Truth Social, congratulating the European team on their success.
The sporting event also saw cordial interactions between Trump and Team Europe’s captain, Luke Donald. Reflecting on the experience, Bradley, the U.S. captain, expressed admiration for having an active President present at the Ryder Cup, calling it a memorable moment.
While the weekend showcased remarkable talents and legends in the world of golf, the competitive spirit between Europe and the USA remains strong as they gear up for future matchups. As Tom Watson aptly put it, “The Ryder Cup creates idols, legends, and memories that last.”
