Taylor Swift is facing criticism for making inaccurate statements about her hobbies. The singer has been promoting her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and has been giving out homemade sourdough bread during interviews. However, during an appearance on BBC Radio 2, Swift claimed that her gluten-free friends could consume her sourdough bread, which is not the case.
Registered Gut Health Dietician, Kirsten Jackson, pointed out that Swift’s comments were misleading. Jackson clarified that sourdough bread contains gluten and is not suitable for individuals with Coeliac Disease or those who are gluten-free. She explained that sourdough bread’s fermentation process reduces the amount of difficult-to-digest fructans, not gluten, making it potentially beneficial for those with certain digestive issues like IBS.
Jackson emphasized that people with gluten allergies or Coeliac Disease could suffer serious health consequences from consuming sourdough bread. She highlighted the importance of accurate information when it comes to dietary choices. Social media reactions to the incident varied, with some appreciating Jackson for clarifying the misinformation.
As of now, Taylor Swift’s spokesperson has not provided a comment on the situation.
