Kim Kardashian faced criticism once more regarding her parenting after her daughter, North West, revealed a new finger piercing. The 12-year-old showcased a second dermal piercing on social media, drawing attention from fans.
In a recent post by Kim and Kanye West’s daughter, North displayed two dermal piercings on her fingers, one with silver gems. Another photo showed her with a blue stone piercing on her middle finger. This latest piercing followed a silver piercing North flaunted during a trip to Rome with her mother in August.
Dermal piercings differ from traditional piercings as they involve inserting a small anchor beneath the skin to hold the jewelry in place. These piercings are temporary and can last from several months to a few years, with potential scarring upon removal, according to experts and WebMD.
Jewelry Expert and Founder of Abelini, Nilesh Rakholia, expressed concern about North’s finger piercing, emphasizing the risks associated with such piercings, especially at her young age. He highlighted the importance of responsible exploration of jewelry and cautioned against prioritizing trends over health and well-being.
This incident is not the first time fans have been alarmed by Kim allowing her daughter to experiment with unconventional looks. North previously sported fake face tattoos, a pretend nose piercing, and grillz in a TikTok video, which sparked mixed reactions among followers.
Despite concerns raised by Kanye West about his kids’ social media presence, Kim defended North’s creative expression, asserting that Kanye’s public criticisms were more hurtful than North’s TikTok posts.
