In a recent interview with PBS News Hour, Brig.-Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi highlighted Iran’s progress in the war, stating that they have not yet achieved their final objective but remain confident in their victories so far.
Despite an interim agreement reached between Washington and Tehran in June to end hostilities, talks have hit a roadblock, leading to a breakdown of the ceasefire. Naqdi emphasized the importance of gaining experience through the prolonged conflict, noting that Iran has learned valuable lessons on how to engage with the American military effectively.
The Iranian official also pointed out a perceived weakness in the American military that was previously underestimated. President Donald Trump reaffirmed the U.S.’ control over the Strait of Hormuz, expressing confidence in maintaining dominance in the region.
Meanwhile, efforts to resume peace negotiations between Iran and the U.S. are ongoing, with Pakistan playing a mediating role. Pakistani officials have engaged in discussions with Iranian counterparts to address key issues, such as Iran’s control over the vital shipping route of the Strait of Hormuz.
