Apple has introduced its newest lineup of iPhones. The company revealed the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air during its annual event held live from California on Tuesday, September 9.
Pre-orders for these models will begin at 1 pm on Friday, September 12, with availability starting on Friday, September 19. Various retailers, including Sky Mobile, EE, Mobiles.co.uk, Vodafone, and Three, have confirmed that they will stock the devices, although prices are yet to be announced.
Customers will have the option to purchase the phones outright from Apple and Amazon starting on Friday, September 12. One standout addition to the iPhone series is the iPhone Air, touted as the thinnest iPhone ever.
The starting price for the iPhone Air is £999 or £41.62 per month, with other retailers expected to disclose their pricing soon. Some retailers are offering incentives for early registration and pre-orders, such as Mobiles.co.uk providing a £20 Currys gift card.
Weighing 165g and measuring only 5.1mm thick, the iPhone Air is the first smartphone in Apple’s ‘Air’ range, previously limited to iPads and MacBooks. Crafted with a Grade 5 titanium frame made of 80% recycled titanium, Apple claims the handset is both strong and stunning.
The device boasts a 6.5″ Super Retina XDR display with a durable Ceramic Shield on both sides, making it four times more crack-resistant and three times better at resisting scratches compared to the iPhone 16. It is powered by the latest A19 Pro chip, touted as the fastest processor in any smartphone.
Customers purchasing the iPhone Air can enjoy a free seven-day trial of Apple TV+ to stream popular shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, and Slow Horses, with the option to cancel before the trial ends.
The iPhone Air offers improved battery life, capable of delivering up to 27 hours of video playback on a single charge and charging to 50% in just 30 minutes. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 48MP Fusion camera system for high-resolution images and an 8MP Centre Stage front camera.
The device comes with iOS 26 out of the box, featuring liquid glass and a dynamic lock screen. It also includes AI features for tasks like live translation, photo clean-up, and visual intelligence.
Available in storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, the iPhone Air comes in stylish colors: Sky Blue, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Space Black.
