Annabelle Carlson, hailing from Aspen, Colorado, managed to survive a shark attack while vacationing in Belize, sustaining injuries to her hands and a portion of her leg. The incident occurred during a diving expedition with her family, who intended the trip to be enjoyable.
While diving 120 feet deep into the ocean on the third day of their vacation, Annabelle encountered multiple sharks and various marine life. Upon resurfacing and taking turns jumping into the water from their boat, she was unexpectedly attacked by a shark, which she bravely fended off despite sustaining injuries to her hands.
Despite her efforts, a second shark lunged at Annabelle, biting her leg before bystanders intervened by throwing oxygen tanks to distract the shark. With the help of a tourniquet fashioned by a tourist, the bleeding was stemmed as they rushed back to shore for emergency medical assistance.
