Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Son’s Diabetes Battle

-

Chrissy Teigen recently shared her emotional journey after her youngest son, Miles, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last summer. The 39-year-old model, who has four children with her husband, singer John Legend, spoke about the initial fear and uncertainty she experienced when doctors revealed Miles’ condition.

During an event, Chrissy mentioned her feelings of being scared and nervous when they first received the diagnosis. Despite trying to remain composed, she acknowledged the steep learning curve and the challenges ahead. Initially thought to have an intestinal infection, Miles’ deteriorating health led to the discovery of his diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disorder where the body stops producing insulin, resulting in high blood sugar levels. Chrissy shared Miles’ poignant question of “Why me? How come not Luna?” and the difficulty of not having a clear answer. Since then, she has become an advocate for diabetes awareness, collaborating with the Screen For Type 1 campaign to promote early detection and testing.

In addition to discussing her son’s health journey, Chrissy spoke about her friendship with Meghan Markle, praising the Duchess for her kindness and strength. She defended Meghan against public scrutiny and expressed admiration for her character and intentions. Despite her busy schedule, Chrissy humorously mentioned the unlikelihood of arranging playdates between their children but left the possibility open for the future.

Chrissy’s openness about her family’s challenges and her support for diabetes awareness initiatives reflect her commitment to raising awareness and helping others facing similar difficulties.
