Fortnite enthusiasts faced significant disruptions on November 26th as the popular online game experienced login issues, matchmaking problems, and connectivity issues on various platforms including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
This led to a surge in searches for ‘Is Fortnite down,’ prompting developer Epic Games to confirm that they are investigating the situation. The Fortnite Status account acknowledged the login problems and assured players that they are actively working on a solution.
The technical difficulties arose just before the upcoming Chapter 7 of the Fortnite x Simpsons collaboration. Players expressed frustration over the inability to access the new skins, with one user urgently requesting a fix to acquire the Homer skin.
Earlier in the month, players got to explore a virtual version of Springfield, the fictional town from The Simpsons, within Fortnite. This collaboration introduced 14 Fortnite Simpsons skins that can be obtained through the battle pass or in-game purchases.
Despite the disruptions, players have until November 29th to claim a free reward featuring a towering Giant Homer Simpson in his underwear devouring a pink donut. This unique skin is available in the Item Shop along with a complimentary loading screen.
To receive the free Giant Homer loading screen, players must log into the game before November 29th. Upon logging in, a pop-up notification will confirm the addition of the cosmetic to their locker.
