If you own a Freeview television set, it’s a great time to ensure it’s fully updated and retuned. Two new channels have recently been added to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and kids’ TV content.
One of the new channels is wedotv Movies UK, transitioning from an online service to a full over-the-air channel accessible to all households, even those without internet-connected TVs. This channel features a lineup of recent blockbuster films like One-Eyed Jacks, Willow Creek, and The Way.
Additionally, there’s a new channel called Cartoon Classics on channel 214, catering to younger viewers with classic animated shows such as The Smurfs, Count Duckula, Sonic X, and Leo & Tig.
To enjoy these new channels on your TV, it’s recommended to check and update your settings. Freeview has announced upcoming changes on October 22, 2025, requiring users to retune their TVs to maintain channel and TV Guide accuracy.
In addition to the channel updates, Gems TV on channel 45 is rebranding as Gemporia.
Freeview has provided instructions for retuning devices, including pressing the menu button on the TV remote, selecting the appropriate setup or installation option, initiating a first-time installation or factory reset, and saving any newly found channels.
Freeview emphasizes that channel lineups are continually evolving, with channels making decisions to move, add, or remove content to offer audiences a diverse viewing experience.
