Google Chrome Introduces Automated Password Change Feature

-

Google recently announced a significant enhancement for its Chrome web browser at its annual I/O conference in California. The update includes an upcoming feature known as automated password change, designed to improve online security by automatically suggesting stronger passwords if a user’s current password is compromised.

According to Google, when Chrome detects a compromised password, its Password Manager will prompt users to automatically update it. This feature aims to simplify the process of enhancing security and reduce the inconvenience of manually changing passwords.

Although an official release date for this update has not been disclosed, it is anticipated to be a crucial improvement. Additionally, Google recently addressed a critical security flaw with a prompt update to Chrome. Users are advised to ensure they are running the latest version of the browser by checking for pending upgrades in the settings.

The latest Chrome version, 136.0.7103.113/.114 for Windows and Mac, and 136.0.7103.113 for Linux, is expected to roll out gradually. It is recommended that users verify their browser’s update status promptly to stay protected.

This development underscores the importance of keeping software up to date to safeguard against potential security vulnerabilities.
