Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Struggle to Start Family

-

Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston has strongly refuted allegations suggesting she was unwilling to start a family due to being a “selfish workaholic.” The former Friends actress, who was previously married to Brad Pitt for five years, revealed her long and private struggle to have children. In a recent interview, the 56-year-old actress expressed the need to dispel the misconceptions surrounding her decision not to have children.

Jennifer emphasized, “People were unaware of my personal journey and the challenges I faced over the past two decades in trying to build a family because I don’t publicly share my medical issues. It’s not anyone’s business. However, the pervasive narrative portraying me as selfish and work-obsessed in relation to family matters does impact me emotionally. I am human, just like everyone else. That’s why I decided to speak out.”

Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar UK, Jennifer discussed her difficult experiences with IVF and regretted not freezing her eggs earlier. Reflecting on media scrutiny, she stated, “News moves quickly, and sometimes I feel compelled to set the record straight when falsehoods are spread. Then I question myself – is it necessary? My family and friends know my truth.”

After her divorce from Brad in 2005 following his involvement with Angelina Jolie, Jennifer dated Justin Theroux for six years before their split in 2017. She described her IVF journey as “an arduous path,” acknowledging the challenges she faced in her late thirties and forties. Jennifer clarified that the insinuation that Brad left her due to her reluctance to have children was entirely false.

The November edition of Harper’s Bazaar UK will be available for purchase from October 9.
