“King Charles Reunites with Pen Pal Melania Trump”

-

The State Visit of President Donald Trump to the UK this week has stirred up some controversy. However, for King Charles, it presents an opportunity to reunite with his close friend and pen pal, Melania Trump.

Their friendship began when King Charles visited the United States in 2005, and since then, they have maintained a strong bond through regular correspondence via letters.

Insiders reveal that one common interest that has solidified the relationship between the King and the First Lady is their shared passion for environmental conservation. Both Charles and Melania are known for their dedication to preserving the natural world.

In her memoir, Melania mentioned her ongoing communication with King Charles III, highlighting the continuous exchange of letters between them and her husband. Their conversations also extend to topics like architecture, gardens, and the arts.

Known for his handwritten letters, King Charles often engages in correspondence with various individuals, including politicians, celebrities, and ordinary citizens. The act of letter-writing holds a significant and therapeutic value for the King, as confirmed by royal sources.

The Trumps landed in London on Tuesday via Air Force One, where they were welcomed by Warren Stephens, the US ambassador to the UK, and Viscount Hood, who serves as King Charles’s lord-in-waiting.

Their official engagements are scheduled to commence on Wednesday morning, starting with a welcome from the Prince and Princess of Wales, followed by an official reception by King Charles and Queen Camilla. The day will culminate in a carriage procession through Windsor, escorted by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

During the state visit, President Trump will participate in inspecting the Guard of Honour and a march past, a tradition he previously upheld but also unintentionally breached by walking ahead of the late queen in 2018.

The visit includes a state dining room lunch with members of the royal family, a wreath-laying ceremony at Queen Elizabeth’s grave in St George’s Chapel, and a tour for the President and the First Lady.

Wednesday night will feature the grand state banquet at St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle, where a table capable of seating up to 160 guests awaits the distinguished attendees.

On Thursday, President Trump will depart Windsor for Chequers, the country retreat of the UK Prime Minister, for meetings with Prime Minister Starmer and a business reception hosted by Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

Meanwhile, Melania will remain at Windsor, engaging in various activities with Queen Camilla and Princess Kate before reuniting with the President on Thursday evening.
