Melania Trump was seen subtly concealing US President Donald Trump’s hand after a bruise was noticed earlier today. The First Lady tightly held Trump’s hand as they walked together from Air Force One upon their arrival in the UK this evening.
During their arrival at Stansted Airport, RAF personnel from The King’s Colour Squadron and US security services were present to welcome Trump. The US President and Melania are scheduled to proceed to the US ambassador’s residence in central London from Stansted for their official engagements.
Trump’s recent hand bruising has sparked discussions due to his public appearances and absences, raising concerns about his health at the age of 79. The White House attributed the bruising to frequent handshaking and aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.
Regarding his health, Trump’s doctor mentioned that the bruising was from regular handshaking and aspirin therapy, which is a common side effect. White House Press Secretary also reassured the public of the President’s excellent health status.
In a positive remark before boarding Air Force One, Trump commended King Charles as a “friend” and praised him as an “elegant gentleman” representing the country well. Notably, Trump’s visit marks the third state visit by a US President to the UK since 1952, following visits by George W Bush in 2003 and Barack Obama in 2009.
