Motorsport Figure Accused of Assaulting Schumacher Nurse

-

A person in their thirties who is involved in the world of motorsport is facing allegations of sexually assaulting one of the nurses who used to care for Michael Schumacher. The incident reportedly took place at Schumacher’s residence in Gland, Switzerland, as per a report by Swiss newspaper 24heures.

The accusations stem from events in 2019, but have only recently come to light after the alleged victim filed a criminal complaint over two years following the incident. A trial is reportedly scheduled for the upcoming week.

According to the rape indictment, the individual in question assaulted the nurse, who was providing care to Schumacher after his serious skiing accident in 2013, in an upstairs bedroom following what was described as ‘a drunken evening.’ It is alleged that the encounter took place in the billiard room of the mansion located by Lake Geneva.

The accused individual has claimed that there was a prior instance of kissing between them at a club in Geneva, but the nurse has refuted the existence of any significant relationship.

Notably, none of the Schumacher family members are implicated in the allegations, with the indictment stating that they were not present during the events.

Over a decade ago, the seven-time Formula One world champion suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident, leading to his current need for continuous care provided by a medical team at his home. Following 250 days in a medically induced coma, Schumacher was allowed to return home for further treatment.

While Schumacher’s wife, Corinna, has largely kept details of his ongoing care private, she offered an update in a Netflix documentary released in 2021. In the documentary, she expressed how much she misses Michael and emphasized the importance of maintaining his privacy while ensuring his comfort and well-being.

Schumacher’s illustrious career saw him clinch his first world championship titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995 before securing five consecutive championships with Ferrari from 2000 to 2004.
