“NATO Responds to Russian Aggression Near EU Borders”

-

NATO warplanes were once again deployed following a recent encounter with Russian fighters near EU borders. The operational command of Poland’s armed forces, in coordination with allied forces, scrambled fighters in response to a significant attack on Ukraine. This marks the second consecutive day that NATO has been compelled to send jets into action.

Poland activated its ground-based air defense systems to the highest alert level while deploying jets to safeguard its airspace. The organization stated that both Polish and allied aircraft were actively patrolling the area, with air defense and radar systems on high alert.

The military operation concluded after Russian airstrikes against Ukraine ceased around 5 am BST. The actions taken were described as precautionary measures to secure the airspace near the targeted region, which had been hit by over 600 drones and missiles during the overnight attack.

Ukraine’s general staff reported 165 clashes between its forces and Russian troops within a 24-hour period, prompting heightened alert levels across the country. The Ukrainian Air Force disclosed that Russia launched a total of 619 drones and missiles, with the majority being successfully intercepted and neutralized.

In response to the invasion of Estonian airspace by Russian jets, NATO scrambled aircraft from Italy, Sweden, and Finland. Estonia’s Prime Minister emphasized the importance of a unified and robust response to such provocations, stressing the need for consultation and coordination among allies.

The incident drew criticism from US President Donald Trump, who expressed concern over the situation and warned of potential repercussions.
