An online personality has criticized individuals known as “trolls” for causing an alarming incident where he was confronted by armed police at a hospital in the UK while he was with his newborn twin daughters. The individual, identified as Sam Walker, recounted the experience at Arrowe Park Hospital in Wirral, where armed officers arrived and took him into custody. Merseyside Police later confirmed the arrest of a 42-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a firearm, with Walker revealing on TikTok that he was the individual detained, attributing the incident to a false report instigated by online “trolls.”
Walker, a self-proclaimed influencer with a significant online following, originally hailing from Liverpool and having lived in Spain, shared details of his international travels to places such as Sierra Leone, Turkey, and Thailand in his posts. While he has discussed encounters with criminals, he has also faced accusations of embellishing his stories.
Expressing his distress to the Liverpool Echo, Walker described how a joyous occasion turned into a terrifying ordeal when police arrived at the hospital. He recounted how false reports made by online trolls led to armed police storming the room where he was holding his two-day-old daughters, pointing guns at him. Following a dramatic confrontation, Walker handed over the babies to their mother as requested by the police and was subsequently taken into custody. After four hours, he was released, with authorities confirming no further action would be taken after an investigation.
Walker expressed confidence in the eventual dropping of charges against him, highlighting the lack of evidence supporting the allegations. He commended the police for their handling of the situation, particularly in reassuring his family and other hospital occupants of their safety. Calling for accountability, Walker urged for the individuals behind the hoax call to be prosecuted, emphasizing the serious consequences of spreading falsehoods that result in such distressing situations.
