“Police Investigate Video Advocating Violence Against UK Prime Minister”

-

Police are on the lookout for an individual captured on video inciting violence against Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a rally led by Tommy Robinson in London. The man, interviewed alongside former Conservative councilor William Coleshill, was heard advocating for Starmer’s assassination. While Coleshill disagreed with the call for assassination, he suggested that Starmer should undergo a fair trial followed by lawful execution, noting that the UK abolished the death penalty in 1965.

The video, which has garnered significant online views, elicited strong reactions from the public. Online commentators expressed their desire for the Metropolitan Police to apprehend the individual in question. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are investigating the video from the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ protest in central London on September 13. As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.

Despite the video surfacing during the Unite the Kingdom rally, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The rally, attended by an estimated 110,000 to 150,000 anti-migrant activists, resulted in confrontations with police. Reports indicate that officers were assaulted, facing what was described as “unacceptable violence” as they intervened to prevent clashes between opposing groups.

Following the rally, the Metropolitan Police reported 25 arrests and condemned the violence directed at officers, with 26 officers sustaining injuries, including serious ones such as broken teeth, a possible broken nose, concussion, a prolapsed disc, and a head injury. In response to the incidents, Keir Starmer emphasized the importance of peaceful protest while condemning assaults on law enforcement and intimidation based on individuals’ backgrounds or ethnicity.
