U2’s frontman Bono’s upscale investment property in the Hollywood Hills has become the scene of a startling stabbing incident.
Reports emerged of an alleged knife attack at the Hollywood Hills residence linked to the 65-year-old musician, who is said to be a partial owner of the property which is still under construction. Emergency services swiftly responded to the location following a 911 call at 1:20 pm PT, with the Los Angeles Police Department launching an investigation, as confirmed by TMZ.
Pictures from the Daily Mail show multiple police vehicles stationed at the entrance of the hillside home, indicating the severity of the situation. The Los Angeles Fire Department also dispatched a fire engine and an ambulance to the site, while a helicopter was seen circling above. Specific details surrounding the incident are currently unclear.
Although the property was expected to be occupied solely by contractors, the reported incident disrupted this assumption. TMZ clarified that Bono was not present during the event and is currently residing outside the United States.
Sources disclosed to the Daily Mail that the singer is among several investors with a financial interest in the property, which is privately up for sale and not listed on the Multiple Listing Service. Real estate professionals in Los Angeles are discreetly showcasing the home to potential buyers.
Unveiled in November 2023, the residence, located above Fairfax Avenue with sweeping views of the Hollywood basin, was crafted by architect Noah Walker and developed by Plus Development Group. This group, co-founded by Tyrone McKillen, the son of Bono’s longtime business partner Paddy McKillen, has ties to the renowned musician.
Bono, who co-owns a whiskey distillery in Ireland with Paddy, has been actively involved in overseeing the construction progress of the property, making multiple visits in 2023. The unique house features a main residence in a triangular shape, a multi-level guesthouse, and a sleek pool running alongside the main structure.
During his investment disclosure, Bono was engrossed in U2’s 40-date residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, which concluded in March 2024, generating substantial earnings per concert. Following the residency, Bono maintained a low profile, with his documentary “Bono: Stories of Surrender” premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025.
