Donald Trump’s security measures include a £1.2 million armored vehicle and a specialized security team known as the Hawkeye squad.
During his second state visit to the UK, Trump is hosted by King Charles at Windsor Castle. Security is tight to ensure his safety, especially after the recent shooting incident involving Charlie Kirk, a close ally of Trump.
Part of Trump’s security detail is the Beast limousine, valued at £1.2 million. This heavily armored vehicle boasts multiple layers of bulletproof glass, an armored fuel tank, reinforced doors, tear gas capabilities, and specially trained drivers.
The Beast is renowned for its security features, capable of withstanding bomb blasts and gunfire. Equipped with night vision cameras, it can navigate obstacles even in low light conditions.
Featuring seven seats, including dedicated spots for Secret Service agents, the limo also has front-mounted shotguns for defense in case of an attack.
In addition to the armored vehicle, Trump is safeguarded by the Hawkeye team, a security unit established after the assassination attempt on President Reagan in 1981. This team, now part of the Secret Service Counter-Assault Team, is tasked with protecting the president.
The agents in the Hawkeye team are armed with advanced weaponry such as the SR-16 rifle, pistols, and stun grenades, ready to respond swiftly to any threats against the president.
To qualify for the elite team, agents must pass rigorous physical tests, including a timed run, pull-ups with added weight, kettlebell exercises, and sharpshooting drills.
Trump’s personal bodyguard carries the nuclear football, a powerful device containing a “big red button” that enables the president to authorize a nuclear strike worldwide. This level of protection will be maintained throughout Trump’s UK visit and for the remainder of his term in office.
