-

Britain is bracing for severe winds and heavy rainfall later today as adverse weather conditions persist across the country. Newly released meteorological data from WXCharts.com indicates a massive rain front moving across the UK from the Atlantic Ocean on Sunday morning, September 14.

The downpour will be accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of up to 70mph in certain UK regions. Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Stephen Kocher warned of the approaching strong westerly or southwesterly winds affecting coastal areas of southwest England and Wales on Sunday evening, spreading further inland and eastwards by Monday morning. Inland areas are likely to experience gusts between 45-55mph, with coastal and hilly areas potentially facing gusts of 60-70mph.

Reports from the Express highlight extensive rainfall covering large parts of the country throughout Sunday morning, continuing the trend of unfavorable weather conditions. Central regions like Manchester and Birmingham are expected to face intense rainfall, with projections indicating up to 10-15mm per hour.

Scotland is also set to endure significant rainfall, extending southward towards Newcastle, with few areas escaping the heavy downpours. The Met Office has forecasted heavy rain spreading northeastward on Sunday, becoming increasingly windy with widespread gales developing across England and Wales.

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office due to high winds, starting at 8pm today and lasting until 6pm tomorrow. Travel disruptions and power interruptions are anticipated due to the strong and gusty winds expected during this period.

Looking ahead, the Met Office predicts a continuation of unsettled weather into the upcoming week. The forecast for Monday to Wednesday includes windy conditions on Monday with sunny spells and thundery showers, followed by easing winds and showers on Tuesday but a return to unsettled conditions on Wednesday.
