-

A toddler, aged two, has passed away at a nursery after being discovered unresponsive.

The incident occurred at Parbold Douglas Church of England Academy in Parbold, West Lancashire, around 2:45pm on Friday.

Lancashire authorities reported that the child was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to the situation despite medical intervention.

Officials clarified that the toddler’s death is not considered suspicious.

Lancashire Police extended their condolences to the family of the child following the tragic event.

A spokesperson mentioned, “We responded to reports of a child becoming unresponsive at school in Parbold. Despite efforts by medical staff, the child passed away. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.”

“The incident is not deemed suspicious, and the case will be forwarded to the Coroner. The family has requested privacy,” the spokesperson added.

Tragically, this incident follows the death of another two-year-old boy in January, who died after a medical emergency at Early Learners Day Nursery in Bootle.

The child was rushed for treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after the emergency.

Parents were informed of the sad occurrence and were notified of the nursery’s temporary closure for a week.

Authorities disclosed their plans to launch an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Law enforcement confirmed that the child experienced a medical episode at the nursery, was swiftly taken to the hospital, but unfortunately could not be saved.

Merseyside Police stated, “An investigation is ongoing following a report of a medical emergency involving a two-year-old boy at a nursery in Bootle.”

“The incident was reported at Early Learners Day Nursery, and the child was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The family is receiving support, and the investigation to determine the cause of death is underway.”
