“National Guard Soldiers Shot Near White House Amid Trump Criticism”

-

Two National Guard soldiers were shot near the White House in daylight. The victims, aged 20 and 24, had recently taken their oaths. Amid their hospitalization, Donald Trump criticized the alleged shooter, an Afghan refugee named Rahmanullah Lakanwal. Trump labeled him an “animal” and condemned Afghan refugees and Somali immigrants in Minnesota. However, the situation has more complexity.

In a separate development, Donald Trump targeted Afghan refugees, Joe Biden, and Somali immigrants in Minnesota in response to the Washington DC shooting. Trump highlighted that Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national, entered the US under Operation Allies Welcome post the fall of Kabul in 2021.

Trump emphasized that Lakanwal was brought into the country by the Biden administration in September 2021, under legislation signed by President Biden. He falsely claimed that 20 million unvetted foreigners entered the US during Biden’s term, calling for a reevaluation of Afghan entries under Biden’s administration.

Additionally, Trump declared the deployment of 500 more National Guard troops to join the existing 2,200 in DC. Despite Lakanwal’s entry under Biden, he was granted asylum by the Trump administration in April 2024.

Regarding the asylum process, the FBI Director deferred to the Department of Homeland Security for clarification. Although there has been no official statement from Kristi Noem, it is confirmed that Lakanwal obtained asylum during Trump’s presidency.

Vice President JD Vance made controversial remarks at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, questioning the popularity of turkey on Thanksgiving. Vance expressed a preference for chicken over turkey, sparking debate on culinary preferences.

In another development, Trump excluded South Africa from the upcoming G20 summit in Miami after a diplomatic dispute at a recent summit. Trump criticized South Africa’s handling of the summit and announced the cessation of payments and subsidies to the country.

The White House is engaged in a dispute with veteran members of congress over military orders, while Trump continues his diplomatic actions, including the exclusion of South Africa from the G20 summit in Miami.
