A tragic incident in Ireland has claimed the lives of a family of three individuals, identified as Mark and Louise O’Connor, both in their 50s, and their son Evan, who was in his 20s and had special needs. The incident, suspected to involve stabbing, occurred at their country stone cottage located in a rural area between Stonestown, Louth Village, and Tallanstown in Co Louth. A male in his 30s, known to the family, has been apprehended as the suspect in the fatal attack.
Emergency responders were called to the scene in the morning, but unfortunately, all three victims were pronounced dead. Later in the day, a private ambulance transported the deceased to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for post-mortem examinations scheduled for the following day.
Authorities reported that upon arriving at the residential property following a distress call, they discovered the bodies of two adult males and one female. The scene has been secured for forensic investigation, with the coroner and state pathologist informed. The suspect, a man in his 30s, is currently in custody under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
An appeal for information has been made by the police, urging anyone with relevant details to contact the investigation team at Drogheda Garda Station. The Justice Minister, Jim O’Callaghan, assured the public that there is no ongoing threat, emphasizing that the authorities are not seeking additional suspects in connection with the incident.
