An older woman is in critical condition following a vicious attack by her seven Rottweilers. The 77-year-old was swiftly taken to the hospital after her uncontrollable dogs assaulted her in Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Saturday. This incident occurred just a day after a 70-year-old man was fatally attacked by four pit bulls in Minas do Leao, also in Rio Grande do Sul.
The woman, who remains unidentified, sustained severe injuries to her nose, ear, and multiple lower limbs, including losing part of her scalp. The Rottweilers were reportedly owned by her and were later taken by the Municipal Guard for further investigation.
Dr. Renato Fetter, the attending physician, mentioned that the patient was fortunate to survive, despite losing part of her nose, suffering a nasal fracture, losing her ear, and experiencing mutilation on her lower limbs.
In a separate incident, market trader Paulo Roberto de Carvalho, 63, lost his life in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense, after being attacked by two pit bulls a week earlier. The tragic death of a one-week-old baby, Jason Anthony Weaver, who was fatally injured by the family’s dog, occurred just recently. The infant succumbed to blunt-force trauma wounds despite efforts by medics to save him.
Moreover, a five-month-old baby was tragically mauled to death by a dog in Florida while left under the care of relatives on his mother’s birthday. Sheriff Mike Chitwood expressed deep sorrow over the heartbreaking incident and highlighted the need for further investigation.
The family of the deceased infant posted an online tribute, remembering the seven-day-old child’s brief life. The series of dog attacks have raised concerns about pet safety and proper supervision to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
