“Darts Rising Star Luke Littler Aims for World No. 1 Spot”

-

Gary Anderson has expressed his belief that Luke Littler is not the top player globally, solely based on rankings. Littler has made a significant impact since his breakthrough at the 2024 Darts World Championships.

After an impressive debut reaching the final, Littler has continued to dominate the darts scene, securing victories in the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, and Premier League. Despite his success, Littler remains in second place behind Luke Humphries in the world rankings, with Humphries having earned more prize money in the past year.

When asked about the best player globally, Anderson straightforwardly pointed to Luke Humphries as the world No. 1. Anderson also highlighted Michael van Gerwen as the top player in Europe outside the UK.

Although Littler is trailing in the rankings, he agrees with Anderson’s assessment, stating his determination to strive for the top spot. With the upcoming World Championship, Littler aims to close the prize money gap and potentially secure the world No. 1 position.

Looking ahead to the World Championship scheduled at Alexandra Palace from December 15, Littler anticipates strong competition. The final lineup of opponents will be confirmed later this month, with the draw set shortly after.
