Taylor Swift did not receive any nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards despite the immense success of her latest album. “The Life of a Showgirl,” her 12th studio album, debuted on October 3 and achieved 4.002 million equivalent album units in its first week in the US, surpassing the previous record set by Adele’s “25.” Although Taylor, aged 35, was not nominated for the Grammys, it was due to her album’s release falling after the eligibility cutoff date. Her album will be considered for the 2027 Grammys instead.
The 2026 Grammy Awards will recognize outstanding recordings, compositions, and artists from August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025. Notably, Beyoncé also did not receive any nominations this time as her album “Cowboy Carter” was released on March 29, 2024.
The Grammy Awards ceremony, celebrating talents from various music genres, is scheduled to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Leading the nominations are rapper Kendrick Lamar and pop icon Lady Gaga.
Kendrick Lamar, 38, a recipient of 22 Grammys, has been nominated for nine awards, including record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year. Lady Gaga, aged 39, who secured her 14th Grammy this year, is nominated for record, song, and album of the year simultaneously for the first time in her career.
Other notable artists with significant nominations include Jack Antonoff, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Cirkut. The album of the year category features works from Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga, among others.
In the song of the year category, artists like Doechii, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga are recognized for their outstanding contributions. Additionally, new artists like Tate McRae, Zara Larsson, and PinkPantheress have also been nominated this year.
The nominations this year include two new categories, traditional country album and best album cover. BBC concert “Live At The Royal Albert Hall,” featuring Raye, has received a nomination in the music film category. British stars Lola Young and Olivia Dean have secured nods in the best new artist category. Sir Elton John and Brandi Carlile have also received a nomination for their song “Never Too Late.”
