“Disney+ Slashes Subscription Price for Limited Time”

-

In a surprising move to compete with Netflix and HBO Max, Disney+ has reduced its subscription price for a limited time, offering new and eligible returning subscribers the chance to access the service for £3.99 per month for three months.

This special offer allows customers to enjoy the Standard with Ads tier, typically priced at £5.99 per month, effectively giving them a three-month subscription for the cost of two. However, this promotion is only available until May 6, requiring customers to sign up for Disney+ by this date to take advantage of the reduced rate.

By signing up before the deadline, subscribers can lock in the £3.99 monthly fee for three months, making Disney+ the most affordable major streaming service compared to Netflix (£5.99), Prime Video (£5.99), HBO Max (£4.99), and Apple TV (£9.99).

After the initial promotional period, the subscription will automatically renew at the standard rate of £5.99 per month unless canceled. Customers aged 18 and above can opt for the ad-supported plan at £3.99, with the option to upgrade to the ad-free Disney+ Standard for £6.99 (reduced from £9.99) or the Disney+ Premium for £9.99 (reduced from £14.99).

The higher-priced plans offer additional benefits, including enhanced picture quality up to 4K UHD and HDR, Dolby Atmos support, and up to four simultaneous streams. Sky has also introduced a new Ultimate TV bundle that includes a complimentary Disney+ subscription along with Netflix and HBO Max.

With a starting price of £5.99 per month, a Disney+ subscription provides access to popular series like Rivals, Only Murders in the Building, and The Bear, as well as a wide range of content from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and more.

The package, priced at £24 per month, includes free streaming subscriptions valued at approximately £240 per year and access to 135 channels such as Sky Atlantic. Disney+ is gearing up for the second season of Rivals, featuring David Tennant, which garnered significant popularity during its debut last year.

The upcoming Dame Jilly Cooper adaptation will be released in two six-part segments, starting with a three-episode premiere on May 15. It joins new releases like The Testaments and the second season of Paradise currently available for streaming.

Returning fan-favorite shows this year include Scrubs and Malcolm in the Middle, which have launched revival series on Disney+ after a hiatus. These series, along with numerous movies and shows from Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar, contribute to the platform’s diverse content library.

For reality TV enthusiasts, Raising Chelsea follows Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo as they navigate parenthood. Disney+ is synonymous with globally popular franchises and has garnered positive reviews on Trustpilot.
