A grieving young widow has shared her profound sorrow after her husband passed away in a devastating drone strike on a Ukrainian city. Florist Bohdana Vityaz, 26, disclosed that her spouse Yaroslav lost his life in a daytime assault by Russian forces in Dnipro.
Expressing her anguish, Bohdana lamented, “Today my husband was killed by damned Russia. We had only been married for one and a half weeks.” The tragic incident, condemned by Volodymyr Zelensky as a bold attack on civilian infrastructure in broad daylight, resulted in the death of the couple and injuries to 31 others.
In a heartfelt message to her late husband, Bohdana conveyed, “You were the most wonderful person I ever knew. My love for you runs deep beyond words.” She revealed the challenge of not having had the opportunity to update her documents with her married name before becoming a widow.
The assault, involving Iranian-made drones, occurred despite calls from Donald Trump to halt the conflict. Ukrainian air defenses partially intercepted the drones, causing panic among civilians seeking refuge during the daylight attack on Dnipro.
Tragically, on the same day, a family of four perished in the Sumy region when their home was targeted. The strike claimed the lives of Alyona Lesnichenko, 26, who was pregnant with twins, her husband Oleksandr, 35, and their sons Denys and Yehor, aged six and four.
