Sony has unveiled a new design for the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller, inspired by Bungie’s upcoming game Marathon. The controller features a combination of stark white and neon green colors, adorned with symbols from the game’s unique UI design.
Bungie expressed their intention to create a design that reflects the game’s bold graphic elements and vibrant color palette. The result is a futuristic yet functional design that pays homage to Marathon’s visual style.
In addition to the controller, Sony is also releasing a Marathon-themed design for its Pulse headset. The headset mirrors the controller’s aesthetics with black ear cups and intricate detailing on a white band.
Both the special edition controller and headset will be available for purchase exclusively on the PlayStation Direct store starting March 5, coinciding with the launch of Marathon. Pre-orders will open on January 29 at 10 am GMT, with Sony emphasizing that the items are limited edition and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Marathon, an extraction shooter game developed by Bungie, was initially set for release in September 2025 but has been rescheduled to March 5, 2026. The game is currently open for pre-orders at £34.99 for the standard edition and has quickly climbed the ranks as one of the top-selling games on Steam.
An upcoming free preview weekend for Marathon will allow players to test the game before its official release, providing valuable feedback to Bungie. With the game gaining popularity, it may pose a challenge to ARC Raiders, a leading title in the extraction shooter genre.
