Selena Gomez, a well-known singer and actress, is facing a lawsuit from investors who claim she engaged in fraudulent activities by failing to meet obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup.
Investors, who collectively put in close to $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture established in 2021 to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” allege in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware that Gomez, a social media powerhouse with over 500 million followers, was supposed to play a key role in the company’s marketing efforts. However, they claim that Gomez and other executives of the company did not fulfill their commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez allegedly signed a contract committing her to certain responsibilities but did not follow through. The investors argue that the company failed to materialize as a viable business, let alone a profitable one, as it struggled to meet fundamental obligations like paying employees and vendors on time.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not provided an immediate response to requests for comments on the matter.
The lawsuit asserts that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until they were revealed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses incurred in pursuing this case.
