Apple has had a bustling week, unveiling a range of new products. Among them are the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models featuring the latest M5 processors. Now, Apple has revealed another anticipated release – a budget-friendly laptop.
Introducing the MacBook Neo, boasting a vibrant design, impressive performance, and a high-resolution 13-inch screen, all priced at £599. This marks a significant price drop compared to the latest MacBook Air, also announced this week.
Powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, the Neo may not match the speed of M-powered PCs but is fully capable of meeting daily digital demands. Running macOS, it provides access to popular applications like Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
With over 15 hours of battery life, the Neo offers efficiency and convenience. It includes two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging. Additional features comprise a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, a Magic Keyboard, and Multi-Touch trackpad.
Available for pre-order now, the MacBook Neo will hit stores next week, offering color options like Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the Neo’s affordability and unique features, emphasizing its distinctive design, powerful performance, and user-friendly macOS experience.
