‘Darts Player Slams Coach as ‘Absolute Helmet’ in Fiery Feud’

-

Luke Littler, feeling annoyed, criticized a darts coach who questioned his participation in the World Youth Championship, referring to the coach as an ‘absolute helmet’. Littler, 18, competed at the tournament in Wigan recently but was defeated in the semi-finals by Beau Greaves, a rising star who ultimately won the championship.

Nicknamed ‘The Nuke’, Littler expressed his admiration for Greaves, a 21-year-old three-time women’s world champion. However, not everyone shared his sentiment, including Cornwall, a former PDC Tour Card holder.

Cornwall voiced his disapproval on the Mission Darts Podcast, condemning Littler’s decision to play in the youth category despite being a world champion. In response, Littler took to Instagram, denouncing Cornwall as an ‘absolute helmet’ and criticizing his comments.

Defending his choice to participate in the World Youth Championship, Littler highlighted the similarities to professional venues and mentioned other tour card holders who also competed. Cornwall also targeted Stephen Bunting, criticizing his positioning during matches and questioning his consistency compared to top players like Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries.

As the debate unfolded, Sky announced a discount on its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering over 1,400 live matches, including at least 215 live Premier League games, to viewers.
