Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the confirmation of an update by the popular UK TV platform. The update includes changes to the channel lineup and TV guide, with some broadcasters making adjustments this week. To ensure channels and the TV guide remain current, a retune is necessary.
Several changes have been introduced, including the rebranding of three channels with new names. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, offering music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.
Moreover, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, is set to launch on Channel 75. Although specific program listings are not widely available yet, more details are expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing changes as broadcasters continually adjust their offerings to ensure diverse and up-to-date content.
Freeview users should expect these changes to reflect on the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary. To do so, users can follow these steps: press the menu button on the remote, navigate to settings or installation, enter the PIN if prompted, select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune,” confirm the deletion of existing channels, and let the device automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, highlighting the importance of retuning sooner rather than later for users.
