A resilient Gazan, Malak Alsweirki, has overcome the challenges of living in a conflict zone and is now pursuing her studies at a renowned university. Evacuated from Gaza where her family resides in a tent, the 20-year-old shared a poignant message emphasizing their humanity and desire for a peaceful life.
Malak’s journey to Trinity College Dublin was facilitated by the Irish government, offering her a lifeline out of Gaza. Reflecting on the dire circumstances in her homeland, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pursue education and escape the constant threat of violence.
Having received offers from prestigious institutions like Cambridge, Harvard, and Yale, Malak embarked on a journey out of Gaza for the first time, passing through Israel to reach Jordan. Recounting her departure amidst the ongoing conflict, she highlighted the stark reality faced by Gazans living just kilometers away from normalcy.
Two years since the outbreak of war in Gaza, Malak described her harrowing experiences of living in a war-torn region plagued by famine and violence. Despite the challenges, she remains determined to excel in her studies and become a beacon of hope for her people.
