Keith Urban keeps personal life private during TV show filming
Country music star Keith Urban has managed to keep details about his personal life under wraps while working on a new television program for several months. The surprise announcement of the split between Urban and actress Nicole Kidman, after nearly two decades of marriage, sent shockwaves through Hollywood last month.
Nicole, an Academy Award-winning actress, filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the end of their long-standing marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in Sydney in 2006 following their initial meeting at a Los Angeles event in 2005, have two daughters aged 17 and 14.
The news of their separation came as a surprise to many in the entertainment industry, as the couple was widely regarded as one of the closest pairs in show business. Even Keith’s colleagues, with whom he had been filming from February to April this year, were caught off guard by the divorce.
Prior to the public announcement, Keith and Nicole had already separated and were living separately. Keith’s involvement in the CBS show “The Road,” which documents the journeys of 12 country music stars across Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, shed light on his experiences away from his family.
During the filming, singer-songwriter Billie Jo Jones expressed her surprise at Keith’s ability to set aside personal issues and maintain professionalism throughout their collaboration. Keith, in one episode of the series, candidly discussed the challenges of touring away from his wife and children, emphasizing the dedication required to pursue his calling as a musician.
Despite the personal turmoil, Keith has continued his musical endeavors, including his ongoing High and Alive World Tour. Notably, he made changes to his performance repertoire, opting to sing “The Fighter,” a song he had previously dedicated to Nicole, with altered lyrics. This change, along with modifications in other songs like “You’ll Think of Me,” hinted at the emotional impact of his recent personal developments.
As Keith navigates this new chapter in his life, fans and colleagues alike are witnessing the resilience and adaptability of the acclaimed musician.
