Applause filled the air at Windsor Castle this afternoon as the Red Arrows staged a stunning performance in honor of the second state visit of US President Donald Trump to the UK. Meanwhile, folk punk singer and activist Billy Bragg expressed strong disapproval of Trump’s visit in a passionate social media post.
Prior to President Trump’s arrival in the UK, Bragg shared information about a ‘Trump Not Welcome’ demonstration at London’s Portland Place. The event, scheduled around the same time as the President’s private lunch with senior members of the royal family, aimed to voice opposition to his visit.
In a post dated September 15, Bragg labeled the state visit as a “moment of national humiliation,” cautioning against appeasing bullies. He urged followers to join the Stop Trump rally in Parliament Square, where he performed his protest song Hundred Year Hunger today.
The rally, limited to Parliament Square and Whitehall due to public order conditions, featured various speakers criticizing President Trump. Concurrently, Channel 4 condemned Trump, announcing plans to broadcast a special exposing his alleged “untruths” during his State Visit to the UK.
Ian Katz, chief content officer at Channel 4, emphasized the intent to showcase what they believed to be a record-breaking reel of falsehoods by President Trump. The program, Trump V The Truth, aimed to highlight over 100 alleged falsehoods, distortions, and inaccuracies made by Trump while in office.
