After NBC’s decision not to renew the show, ABC took over for the eighth season, initially intended to be the final one. Subsequently, in late 2009, a ninth season titled ‘Med School’ was greenlit, featuring a shift to a medical school setting with fresh faces. Following ABC’s cancellation of the series in 2010, Scrubs is now back in the production pipeline for a 10th season, scheduled to debut in February 2026.
The upcoming season will witness several original cast members reprising their roles, including Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid, Donald Faison as Christopher Turk, and Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa.
