“Manchester Police Seek Witnesses to Pedestrian Collision”

Greater Manchester Police provided an update on the status of two pedestrians who were struck by a police vehicle earlier this week. The incident occurred on Friday, September 19, at around 9:08 pm, resulting in a 57-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man being hospitalized. The woman sustained serious injuries and remains in the hospital, while the male pedestrian has been discharged with minor injuries. The officer driving the police vehicle is cooperating with the investigation, and referrals have been made to GMP’s Professional Standards Directorate.

Authorities have called for information from the public regarding the collision on Wigan Road in Leigh. They are particularly interested in speaking with witnesses or individuals who may have footage of the incident, such as CCTV, dashcam, doorbell, or mobile phone recordings.
