An exclusive dining establishment popular among celebrities has released a new statement following an unusual incident that occurred yesterday. Video footage of the incident at the upscale Sexy Fish restaurant in Manchester quickly spread on social media, showing a large sea-themed artwork falling from the wall and crashing onto the floor during lunch service.

A TikTok clip captured the aftermath of the incident, revealing the artwork scattered on the ground and across multiple dining tables, with fish-themed light fixtures strewn about. The incident led to the closure of the restaurant located in Spinningfields, Manchester’s financial district known for its high-end venues.

A spokesperson for Sexy Fish confirmed the incident, stating that the restaurant was promptly closed, and the team is in contact with the affected guests. Following a thorough safety inspection by independent specialists, the restaurant is set to reopen for lunch, emphasizing the priority placed on the safety and well-being of customers and staff.

In a subsequent update, the spokesperson provided further details on the incident, confirming a minor injury sustained by one guest, believed to be a bruise. The restaurant remained closed for the rest of the day for a comprehensive safety assessment. All remaining artworks have been inspected by third-party specialists ahead of the reopening.

Sexy Fish, which took over a former Armani store in the city center and was launched in 2023 by the same company behind the Ivy Group, attracted notable personalities during its grand opening, including soap star Helen Flanagan and former Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard. The venue features artworks by Damien Hirst, including a swordfish mural that fell and a blue octopus sculpture, creating an elegant ambiance with fish-themed decor elements.

The restaurant’s Mayfair branch also showcases artworks by Hirst and has been a favored spot for celebrities like Katy Perry, Noel Gallagher, and Lindsay Lohan over the years.
