“Ryanair Passengers Stranded Overnight Amid Flight Cancellation Fiasco”

-

A frustrated couple has sworn off flying with Ryanair after a troubling experience on their return journey from vacation. Scheduled to fly back to Manchester from Faro Airport in Portugal at 10 pm on Tuesday night, they were left waiting on the tarmac for an hour while the plane underwent inspection. Subsequently, they were instructed to return to the terminal as the flight was canceled. With no available accommodations, the couple, along with 200 other passengers, had to spend the night on the airport floor.

Expressing their dismay, one of them recounted the lack of information and organization during the ordeal, emphasizing the inconvenience faced by all passengers. After a prolonged delay, the new flight was rescheduled for 6:05 am the following morning. The passengers were directed to wait in the terminal without proper provisions, including food or drinks, as the airport facilities were closed.

Despite the challenges, the replacement flight finally departed at around 6:30 am, arriving at Manchester Airport after 9:30 am. The passengers, exhausted and frustrated, highlighted the poor treatment and lack of apology from the airline, vowing never to fly with Ryanair again.

In response, a Ryanair spokesperson clarified that the flight was delayed initially due to air traffic control issues and later overnight due to a minor technical problem and airport curfew restrictions. Passengers were informed via various communication channels about the delay, given refreshment vouchers, and advised on their options. While the airline attempted to arrange accommodations, the limited availability prompted passengers to seek individual arrangements, with reimbursement options provided.

The rescheduled flight successfully departed for Manchester on the morning of the following day as per the airline’s statement.
