A 17-year-old teenager has been accused of committing multiple sexual assaults on several women during a two-hour period while using public transportation.
Authorities are seeking witnesses to provide information about a series of incidents that took place on London’s public transportation system last Friday evening. The incidents commenced around 4:40 pm on September 5 when the teenager allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on a Bakerloo line train at Harlesden Underground station.
Following the initial incident, the perpetrator reportedly continued his assaults by targeting two additional women on a Thameslink train and at the platform of Blackfriars railway station. The alleged offenses then persisted with another assault on a woman aboard a Thameslink train bound for St Pancras railway station at approximately 6:40 pm, followed by a fifth assault at West Hampstead Thameslink station around 7:00 pm.
The British Transport Police have confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection with these incidents, and investigations are ongoing. They are urging anyone who witnessed the assaults or may have been victims themselves to come forward.
In a statement, the police mentioned, “Officers are investigating a series of linked sexual offenses and are appealing for witnesses to provide information. The first incident occurred on a Bakerloo line train at Harlesden Underground station around 4:40 pm on Friday, September 5, where a woman was sexually assaulted by a 17-year-old boy.”
The statement continued, “Shortly after, he carried out sexual assaults on two more women on a Thameslink train and at the platform of Blackfriars railway station. Subsequently, he assaulted another woman on a Thameslink train heading to St Pancras railway station at approximately 6:40 pm and then another woman at West Hampstead Thameslink station at around 7:00 pm.”
The police further added, “An arrest has been made, and investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information regarding these incidents or potential victimization is encouraged to come forward.”
